Anyway, my dad worked at Avco Lycoming in Stratford,CT for thirty years, in the very building where the first corsairs were assembled. I've been fascinated by this plane all my life, and will fly in one yet! (As some, I see, have jumpseats.)

It has always been a dream of mine to go up in an F4U. I would travel to any destination in the country for this opportunity, and pay what it costs. Do you have any info?

@t3903d this one belongs to a buddy of mine...there is a group of fellows that own it. There are a few of them throughout the country, but I do not know anyone who is currently selling rides in them. I believe that the Planes of Fame Museum was doing so at one time in their F4U-1, but have no idea if they are still doing so.

Were you a passenger here, in a jump seat behind the pilot?

@t3903d yes, the armor and old radio equipment have been removed and there is a jumpseat behind the pilot.
