  • Hey Benny - I bought one of these saxes (think mine was a 1926 model) for $100 at a junk shop. Seems about the same condition as the one in the video. I use a selmer mouthpiece with it.

    Hawkes merged with Boosey in January 1930. The Hawkes factory was in Edgware.

    I have seen some charts of serial numbers for Hawkes & Son, but can't remember where. I think one was on a trumpet site.

    I have two Hawkes & Son XX Century altos I'm going to re-build.
