Biography
:::::::::::::::::::
Growing up in the nineties, twin brothers Pieter & Ward Vermeiren and childhood friends Frederick Bogaert & Bram Maes started playing together as a band, but officially formed Tripoli during the winter of 2003 when Femke De Beleyr joined. In 2008 Melissa Hanssen succeeded Femke as leadsinger. Swarming guitar fuzz, bass waves, Melissa's voice, and insistent drum throbs are the core components of Tripoli. Drawing on the sparkling legacy of the best of 80s and 90s rock, Tripoli update the timeless noisy pop template with a thoroughly modern viewpoint and a very distinctive, playful personality. Taking influence from bands like Siouxsie, The Kills, Yeah yeah yeahs and the Buzzcocks, the band now recorded a five-song long EP, called "Some hearts skip a beat". Tripoli worked hard with producers Frederick Heuvinck (A Brand), Pieter Van Buyten (Flip Kowlier) and mixing engineer Jan De Rijck to give SHSAB that warm, technicolor sound.
