Francis was hardly only singing in the shower the past 12 years. In fact, she was a regular Broadway performer, had put out a solo album, and has sung backup for Madonna, Chaka Khan, and even shared billing with Adam Lambert. and she was a member of the girl group X girlfriend and has put on a concert for Scientology Tom Cruise.. Look her up youtube..

she insinuated a lot. i mean come on with a line like " i dont want to die with this music in me simon" . To me that insinuates that singing is something that she likes to do but has never really done. but from that video of her singing at tom cruise's party she was letting the music out her whole life. shes had cd's, sang at public event's. I would understand if everything happened in her singing career when she was young and it died but that isn't the case.

@JoieZReign My point was simply this, "making it" in one person's eyes is NOT "making it" in another's. For Ms. Francis, I believe "making it" means she's able to provide a worry-free life for herself and her children (specifically financially) and though she's had some "breaks" as we all have, in terms of having an opportunity to be "successful" it doesn't always work out like we planned. Her point was, she's NOT rich and living the life of a "celebrity" regardless of her past.

@Cuchino51 Yes I am serious! I have plenty famous friends, Grammy winners & some without, but some of their solo albums didn't go diamond, gold whatever. But, they don't say I never made it. I know it's tough personally, too! I watched 2 family members get really close, taken advantage of..seriously you can lay off. And, I watch "The View" faithfully.

I remember Ex-Girlfriend from back when I was in the 3rd grade. "Why Can't You Come Home" used to get requested on THE BOX back in the day!

I wonder why she never hit it really big. She could have been huge.

It's ashamed she lied though. She had her break in '91 with a girl group called Ex Girlfriend, '08 solo career & plenty singing engagements. I fell for her story, too.
