3/6/10: We revisit Peter King, also known as "The Tiny House Guy" thanks to a Stuck in VT video that went viral last winter. Peter has built 11 tiny houses since we saw him last but is not super pleased with his new moniker.

We also meet Dale Helms who is downsizing with his wife from their 2,400 square foot home to a 1,200 square foot home. While they build the smaller house, they will live in a 400 sq ft home that Peter helped them build. With the help of this tiny house, they hope to eliminate their debt.

With the economy in shambles and foreclosures running rampant, tiny houses seem more relevant than ever. But Peter has some ideas that are even bigger than his tiny houses.

  • i want a tiny house

  • Thumbs up for tiny houses and not using more than you need!

  • I too have enjoyed the freedom of living in tiny houses for the past thirty years , but one thing I've noticed for sure as a result , is that I never have enough room , to consume and acquire stuff beyond what is absolutely necessary , but I've always had the freedom from mortgages , loans and the blessings of simplicity !

One thing for sure - the less you have to work for money, along with the less you have to consume , makes it a type of anti-capitalism which is practically un-American !

  • Peter is Awesome! What a great outlook and lifestyle!

  • @technosasquatch because he is good at it!!!!! :) its a calling thing.

  • I think he's a doll..!

  • Is Peter married? I think I want to propose!

  • I want to build my tiny house AND learn to juggle!! LOL

  • Peter....

i am building a "WeeBee".i am currently in the framing stage.

b4 i decided to build a tiny house, i had many people lined up to help.

    unfortunately, no one showed up.

so any way, i'm a 59 year old swimming pool service man with very little construction experience.

i do like the small house concept.

i'm going today to look at tools to purchase for the T&G flooring.

i live in sunny south florida....how about a vacation?

or maybe an email with some sensible, experienced advice.

  • i would love to live in a tiny house someday. too much consumerism, materialism, (and proper punctuation) is ruining my life. L'chaim y'all!
