Yale has two sirens in town. 1 of them are on 111 W.Mechanic Street where the City Of Yale Fire Dept used to be before they built the new fire station in 2004. The old Fire Station has 2 seprate buildings, one for the former location of the Fire Dept, and the Yale Police. Now the City Of Yale DPW & Other City Services use the old fire station. The second siren is located at the New Fire Station at 7644 Brockway Rd where both the City Of Yale and Brockway Township Fire Depts are now combined.

In this video, The Yale/Brockway Fire Department responding to a possible car accident, no details were given where it was and how many vehicles were involved, and weather there were any injuries.

  • No both sirens are STH-10's. The one at the Fire Station in the distance has a lower pitch than the one in town.

  • It doesn't hit anywhere near as high a pitch and it is not rotating - STH-10.

  • The one in the Distance at the other location sounds like a 2001. Definately right about the STH-10

  • @murrfarms

Thats what I thought. Everything I've ever seen, heard, or read tells me that the 2001 has 12 ports, aside from crazywarriorman's comment.

  • 2001s don't stay at a steady tone that long for attack signal and I promise you that sound is a STH-10.

  • No, every single 2001 ever made since the late 80s, when the "round-back" 2001-DCs were introduced, have been 12 port. They use a high-tone Model 3's rotor, which has 12 ports. If they had a 10 port rotor, and the motor ran at the same speed it does now, they would sound more like a rotating version of an old Model 5.

  • thats a 2001

  • the 2001 is 12 port also just like the STH, but uses a smaller rotor, possibly the same one used on the Model 3. Federal never made a 10 port siren, and only used a 10 port rotor/stator on the 2T22/3T22.

  • Hmm. Didn't know that. You learn something new every day!

Does that mean that the motor has a higher RPM rating?

  • Yes I am positive that it is only 10 ports.
