(I re-uploaded this because youtube made a muck up of the aspect ratio first time round) Rock goes to college (Stirling University), March 2nd, 1981. Eibhli Ghail Chiuin ni Chearbhail, traditional celtic song, arranged by John Martyn.

  • That bass player has no idea what he's doing.

  • @vlock1

See nothing wrong with him. At 2:13 he starts playing more than 2 notes.

  • @TheGuitarManEIRE The bass player plays the piece perfectly.

  • @TheMartinace I agree

  • man, 1981. this bunch of 18 year olds probably wanted to listen to the human league. instead they got a bearded drunk guy and a band of weirdos playing this. And by the way, i love JM for decades.

  • bassist is not modulating per the song - what the freak, the whole mood is altered, not for the better -

  • @TheGuitarManEIRE Still astounding, though, seeing the young JM playing this gorgeous melody. Still ashamed of myself for not catching him in Brooklyn a couple of years ago. I had Nirvana tickets once, too, and didn't go because of a bad cold.

  • @TheGuitarManEIRE You're right. Far better for him to be following along with JM 6/7ths of an octave higher.

  • you think that he might of been told to do that

  • ? bass player ?
