Man watching this movie
brings back memories
but what I didn't know was that they said estimated to 100 crashes or more were real
the reports with the civilians were real
the police officers (CHP, Long Beach County, LAPD, Los Angeles County Sherrif's Dept., & others countys) were real
most of the chase was unpredictable, those crashes were not set ups nor stunts
if you have the VHS bonus edition
they will prove to you that the chase scene wasn't fake
including a bonus clip showing that big jump

i remember seeing on a tv show that this stang didnt need any mechanical repairs from this chase scene... just 4 new tires... which is amazing
I love how after the jump the car spins to the left in the slowmo, and in the high speed version, it tears off unscathed to the right. I guess continuity wasn't a real big deal back in the day. But even so, this is 100% better than that bag of crap with Cage in it. The stunts were so much better back in the day when they didn't depend 100% on CG.
