Just wanted to raise the question what kind of blade is the best for everyday carry, if you carry a blade? The main focus being the pocket knives vs. multi-tools. Want to raise the question and get your perspective.
I've been carrying a Leatherman Charge and Cold Steel AK every day for a very long time. And really the only reason for that is that the CS knife is quicker to deploy for me, and I have much more faith in the locking mechanism should I ever get stranded (I go outdoors a lot) than I do the leatherman, which I carry for it's toolset (pliers and bitset are the ones I use most often).
I have some good knives. But I like to carry a rat 1 and a swiss tool spirit for work. The rat 1 is a great beater knife for work. The swiss tool is well made but it is to polished which makes it a bit slippery when wet. I agree with most here you need both. I also really like the swiss army alox pioneer with a tactical folder. This will be a good combo for quick slicing and beer opeining
I myself live in Kentucky the vast majority of the populace carry a pocket knife with them at all times. I only know of 2 people that have been in a knife fight one of them was a complete moron who's stupidity got him killed, the other was attacked with a knife and was able to disarm his assailant. Most people who carry knives do so because of the overwhelming usefulness they serve.
I carry both a multi tool and a pocket knife. I dont use the knife on my mt much beacuase I have my primary blade, I use it more for the pliers. bottle opener, and even the saw a few times.
i think that pocket knives should have a size limit of a reasonable length but unfortunately i live in the UK and they are very strict on pocket knives and multi tools with lock systems.
if you get found by the police with a lock knife or multi tool with a lock system you can go to prison for a max of 15 years.
I carry a Leatherman Skeletool in my right hand front pocket, and Izula II in left hand front pocket. Once the Skeletool came out, I never carried a pocket knife anymore. I have a Leatherman MUT in my go bag in the truck.

I carry both a leatherman wingman and a folding knife. I think carrying a multi tool is smart. Great video.
