  • actually it is release technique. a good release dancer should be able to create tension and hold points in the movement so then they have something to actually release. if you are released the whole time more or less it looks messy and can be quite boring and typical of a contemporary dancer. however i will admit the dancers could have been a bit more released in this.

  • Not a release class. Come to New York and take a release class. You'll find out what is it.

Well, at movement research you will find great classes. Check the MELT workshop series... during the summer and winter.

There is another studio called Dance New Amsterdam. Check it out.

Also, I recommend you to take Klein Technique classes.

good question. im looking for great release classes in nyc. do you have any suggestions? i just relocated here and am looking for instructors.

  • nice indulgence.nice footwork and your breathing so little that i wonder why nobody faints. You suck hard but you have a great bodyconnection.

  • Correction, this was a beginners laban notation class.

  • i'd say this is a release class that is focusing on letting the body slowly register the different movements and in time be able to do it in a more, "drop and come back"-kind of way (as my teacher said) and of course a lot faster

  • whys does everyone get critical... jeeze

Laban are immense at what they do...

its a bit of fun putting up a video. not everyones amazing...

get over it. they must have something if they got into Laban...

  • this is not release technique
