I just don't like new stuff. This old lawnmower works perfectly and has NO plastic parts, and NO safety divises, lol. I just bought it down the street after looking for a good old one. I also turned an old schwinn bike that had long been abandoned into one of the fastest bikes on the bike trails. Its a 1962 Schwinn Traveler and I put a 2 speed overdrive, from an early 60's stingray junior, on it, after having it spoked to a 28 spoke 26" rim. These 2 speed kickbacks are very rare, and an OD one is even rarer times 20. So it looks like a rusty one speed, yet has a 40% OD in 2nd gear. Top speed sofar is 28 mph on flat land, much faster than most Hi dollar bikes, lol. Oh it bugs them when I have to tell them, "Passing on the left" and I pass them on this rusty thing at 25 mph???? I live by some great bike trails that run along the Trinity river. They run for miles and this hi speed bike is perfect for them.

  • LOL a sleeper Schwinn!

  • @4gasem

I am happy with it, as soon as I can get it fixed! Just search on YouTube "seberhusky snowbird", it will be the top two results.

  • @SeberHusky If it works and you're happy with the mess, then have at it...

  • @4gasem

Well evidently you do, otherwise they would not have put it on the snowblower to begin with. And this snowblower has special steel covers over everything to protect the engine from snow. The fuel tank and carb are safe under a hinged cover. Along with the spark plug and chute chain, etc...

  • @SeberHusky You honestly don't need an air filter on a snow blower. My Deere hasn't had one since new in 1978 and it runs like a top. Usually the air in the winter is pretty clean, and snow can get packed into filters and choke the engine.

  • I've got a 1960/1961 SnowBird snowblower with a Briggs engine which has an oil bath air cleaner as well. Messy as hell to clean! lol

  • so basicly if i put a 20" wheel hub on my 26" wheel for my schwinn it will be faster?

  • i mow with a reel mower....

  • Nice video and good commentary. I'm an old iron collector too and rust is my favorite color! Enjoyed it!

  • Hi RestoDan....I really enjoy watching your videos and like you I hate alot of the newer electronic crap they make now that don't run worth beans. I've always lived by "If it ain't broke, don't fix it " attitude. I like your old fashion common sense and humor as well. Keep up the good work Dan, and keep us posted with your videos.....cheers! =)
