Curtin MSA Islamic Lecture 2011

Curtin Muslim Students Association is proud to present in coordination with Sunnah Inspirations, HikmahWay and AMYN an Islamic lecture featuring two prominent and internationally renowned speakers to Perth, Western Australia. The lecture is scheduled on the 1st May 2011 at Curtin University. The lecture will feature Shaikh Hussein Yee and Shaikh Aslam Abu Ismaeel. The topics for the day will be:
1 - Beyond the Mirage of Atheism by Sh. Hussein Yee
2 - Iman in the Online Age by Sh. Aslam Abu Ismaeel
3 - Buddhism to Islam: A Journey of Peace

The venue is Elizabeth Jolly Lecture Building 210 Curtin University, Bentley. Also the time scheduled for this event is 2:30PM - 4:35PM. THE IS A FREE ENTRY EVENT!

Hussein Yee:
Born into a Buddhist family, Hussain Yee embraced Islam at the age of 18. He pursued studies at the University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia majoring in Hadith. After graduating in 1978, he joined the organization called 'Perkim', in Malaysia, which focuses on the well being of the new converts. Later he seconded as director of centre in Hong Kong. He then founded Al Khaadem with a group of volunteers in 1984. He also studied four years under Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani, and has also had contact with the former Grand Mufti of Saudi-Arabia Ibn Baaz while studying at the University of Madinah. After studying in Saudi Arabia, Hussain Yee became involved in various organizations and now gives talks in the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe, which includes conducting summer camps by the invitation of local and international organizations. Furthermore, Hussain regularly appears on Peace TV whereby he gives many lectures.

Shiekh Aslam Abu Ismaeel:
Following a diploma in Arabic language, Sheikh Aslam graduated from the Shariah Faculty, Islamic University of Medina, specialising in Fiqh &Islamic Law. Besides the University studies, he also studied many classical shariah texts with numerous experts in the field. He is also a short-term student of the eminent scholar&Imam of our time, Sheikh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Utheimin. Like his teacher, Allah gifted him with an inspiring manner of teaching the most difficult of subjects!
