Rough version of song for Hope International Development Agency

Song explanation here:

http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=B0bf29NK778

It's easiest in G and goes like this (if you want to play it higher just use a capo):

G
A humble lunch, soup and sandwiches,
Em C
In boxes on a stony ledge D
A line of hungry men G

A son asks why are we here every week
Em C
With old men on a losing streak D
We could probably find some better friends C G D
The father's only words C G D
The best advice ever heard C G Em C
There's a sunshine that you need to find D G
In everyone you're looking at C G Em C
The light that's in you, it's in them too D G
Just don't forget about that

  • This is such an inspiring song!

I think the line "we could probably find some better friends" stood out to me in particular. I'm not sure why, but it did. Anyway, I found this inspiring as an aspiring/amateur musician and as a person.

  • Thanks for saying! Looking forward to hearing your songs sometime!

  • Awesome. Don't change it too much

  • Thanks. Just a little polishing.

  • Awesome!

    YA'll are just awesome!

  • hmmm ok i'll do that i'll just let my mind flow! thxx so much, that really helped! :D

  • The one I like is Videli Noch. I put it in my favorites yesterday.

  • I hope it's not the water, because it's all ice right now. That's the key to music in Winnipeg!! Long cold winters that keep you inside playing your guitar!!

  • I would have to say just start writing songs and at first you'll write a bunch of crappy ones. I did. It's hard to give guidelines for writing a song, because everyone goes so differently, but generally, I sit for hours with my guitar just singing stuff. Stuff that's already written, and then just freestyling as well. And then some catchy hook should appear. And then you build from there. Before I wrote this one I had four other ideas for this song that I concluded were crap!!

  • I am glad it inspired you! That was the aim.
