This is what happens when you use espresso machines in a hard water area without buying a water filter or getting it exchanged/replaced often enough.
The scale causes leaks and malfunctions, you spend money calling engineers out to fix the problems as they arise.
Eventually you will have lost so much business and paid out so much in call-outs that you will ask the engineers to take the machine away and descale it. If you are unlucky, your insurance/boiler safety inspector will have condemned the machine as unsafe to use.
This descale process is so expensive, involving completely stripping the machine and acid bathing all components, that you will curse the day that you decided to "save" a few pounds by neglecting to replace the water filter.
Contact the experts on coffeemedics@yahoo.co.uk for friendly advice on how to spend a little to save a lot!
