Take off of a Continental Airlines Boeing 737-800 from runway 7 of the Juan Santamaria international airport, San Jose (Alajuela), Costa Rica (SJO).
The pilot performed an outstanding visual north departure with left turn, very uncommon to see jetliners doing that in "El Coco".
Flight CO1490 to the George Bush Intercontinental airport of Houston, TX (IAH). Video shot from seat 4F (Business Class).
NOTE: This is the first and only video capturing this maneuver from inside known so far.

  • Great video & well filmed. Thanks for sharing.

  • @abcde5291 they also do it in tapachula, chiapas, mexico

  • De Ford.......good pilot, his turning North right after taking off is done sometimes in Costa Rica by planes taking off for Nicaragua. The pilot turned to his left by the end of runway 07........... Nice video.

  • yeah am I agree with u, they usually go all the way south anf turn right then go all the way north, I fly a lot and I have never seen any of my airplanes turning right after taking off, I wish so I can see my house lol

  • Love the sounds of that engine
