balanced deliver my ass...

Try doing that at an arena club where the hacks are temporary and there's an obstruction between the hacks.... won't work. Learn to deliver correctly.

If you wanted to try this out for yourself, rather than trying to slide on your opposite foot, just trying throwing left-handed from the right hack. At least that way you're still sliding on your "normal" foot. Not sure about the aim, though. Since your arm is at the side of your body, having to bring it across your chest to centre the rock means you are more likely to fling the rock with your arm. That said, enough curlers already "shuffleboard" their rocks with a conventional delivery.

This is a bad idea!

She is most likely putting her hand on the ice to slow down, not too keep balance

Couple problems with this delivery
1) impossible without a stabilizer aid
2) A conventional delivery is just as, if not more stable than this "Utica" style because if your slider foot supports all your body weight directly under your chest, physics dictates that you're going to be solid and stable no matter what as your center of gravity is low, centered and anchored. This "uitca" style is simply another form of a crutch for those with poor balance and wouldn't fly with purists of the game.

No backswing for anyone with this.

@idealpragmatist : tried it and i think it is a legit delivery - completely awkward to try for an experienced curler mind you, but i could hardly stand up with the slider on the other foot, never mind sliding. that being said, given you are putting your opposite knee down i think this could totally work for some people and would be very stable.

The point which may need to be made more obvious is the slider is on the other foot. This is interesting because it obviously creates a much wider base for grester stability. Given a no-lilt deliver where the rock starts out well in front, i can see this working. Need to borrow a right-footed slider and try it.

doctor387, she is delivering from the correct hack, and pushing out with her opposite leg. No rules against that.
This would be uncomfortable for me, but as the inventor suggested to me at the club the other night, it might be better for big people to learn this.
Not allowed in Scotland. According to RCCC rules, a delivery from the wrong hack is discounted.

@Doctor387 Check the rule book and then watch the video again. This will help the big people that have given up on the game. Thanks for the comment
