Always on my Mind was written by Johnny Christopher, Mark James and Wayne Thompson and originally recorded by Brenda Lee.
Elvis Presley recorded his version on March 29, 1972. The song was released as the B-side of the "Separate Ways" single, which sold over half a million copies. In the UK "Always on My Mind" was the hit song and "Separate Ways" was the B-side. Brenda Lee's version stalled at #45 on the country charts in 1972.
The song was also recorded by Willie Nelson. He released it in the spring of 1982, the song raced to number one on Billboard magazine's Hot Country Singles chart that May, spending two weeks atop the chart. The song was Billboard's number one country song for 1982.

  • what i meant is that is not your voice...its elvis voice on the back;)

  • @alexcorvyn Alex. That is awesome! Whether you meant to or not, that is one of the best compliments I've had. There is no "Elvis" in the background or in the foreground or anywhere in the vacinity. In fact, I can assure you that he is not even in the building ; ) That is my voice and my voice only echoing against the walls at Roxy's Cafe in Acton. I do not even have it amplified with a microphone. The karaoke tracks are being played on a computer. But, sincerely, thank you : ) Darren

  • Great singing. Like the way you add your own interpretation at the end.

  • I really enjoyed this cover you sound great ..this song suits your voice

  • Man, you're a heckuva Elvis impersonator, too, really. This one was better than the last one I heard though. I really liked Willie's N's better, but not his voice so much. Man you must've played in a band sometime!?!?!?

  • Love it !!, i do, i do love it^_____^:)*

  • Great job! So nice to see someone singing Elvis songs really well in their own way and without feeling the need to dress in a white jumpsuit and a black wig.
