John McCain
Town Hall Meeting
Lakeville, MN 10/10/08

TRANSCRIPT:

JOHN MCCAIN: Look, I'm very enthusiastic and encouraged by the incredible enthusiasm that's here this afternoon. And, and the support and the real incredible volunteers and people who've been doing so much for us. And I think it's really good. And I have to tell you that I think a big part of the reason frankly is because the Governor of Alaska has ignited a lot of people as well in this campaign.

MCCAIN: But, so, and we want to fight and I will fight. But we will be respectful. I admire Sen. Obama and his accomplishments. I will respect him and I want [crowd boos] no, no. And I want everyone to be respectful, and let's make sure we are. Because that's the way politics should be conducted in America. So let's [crowd cheers] make sure we're all respectful. Now, I don't mean that has to reduce your ferocity. I just means it's gotta be respectful, okay? [indistinguishable yelling] And I would say that 99 and 44/100 of every person that's come to my town halls has been respectful, and I'm proud you're here and I'm grateful for it. And I appreciate your enthusiasm.

  • Fuck Mc Cain and Fuck Palin too.

  • Hmmm, you mention keeping our checks and balances. I have been noticing over the last 7 or so years that the current (Republican) administration doesn't believe in them. Keeping the status quo won't work, friend. AndI'm not a lib, I'm 48 years old and until W. ran I was a good fiscal Republican. I would have voted for the McCain of 8 years ago, but not this one.

  • Mccain needs to support Obama, or u mean Obama needs to support Mccain.

Just like how Joe Biden was endorsing Mccain after he dropped out in the primaries.

Biden never had faith in Obama running this country, before he flip flopped and changed his position after becoming his VP.

  • Love Mccain.

    MCCAIN PALIN 2008.

  • If we don't need a angry man at the helm, why is G.W.B. in there,no one seems to remember,in 2000 against that NUTT al gore,GW said HE'D GET SADDAM FOR"TRYING TO KILL MY DADDY"cause we don't like ppl like that in texas.that's why we tore down old BABYLON,now look at the econ.every1's broke so SATAN'S 1 WORLD system will work, when he gets here all he has to say,WORSHIP ME taking mark of the beast and i'll set you free from all your debts.so,the whole world, will worship him thinking, he's CHRIST.

  • Angry Old Man? Well, you just stated the level of respect you have towards your elders. If you ever decided to listen to some wisdom & learn through experience, you might not be so quick to run your mouth with ill-preparation. As for "Right-Wing Conservatism", wherein did I indicate any Political Affiliations? Yet again, you are blurting out in despair with a serious slight in forethought. If you are ashamed of America it is through your own doing, no one else's. Go to Mexico/Russia if you wish.

  • Not a safer bet! McCain is a fool and he is dangerous! We don't need an angry old man at the helm of our country! Sorry your right-winged conservatism has blinded you. The Republicans have shamed America and nearly bankrupted it the last 8 years. And we the American voters are not going to stand for it. Prepare to be blindsided on Nov. 4th!

  • If you believe this past week was looking scary, just wait and see what happens if Senator Obama becomes President. I am all for a Party change-up now and then in the White House, but we NEED TO KEEP our Checks-and-Balances. With a Democrat in the White House, and the Same Democrat's which allowed for this financial mess to come about, still Controlling Congress and the Senate, we will be in serious trouble. Senator McCain is simply a safer bet, regardless of your Liberalism or Conservatism.

  • Well I hate to say it, but Negative Attacks have been proven to work in this Election Year. Look at what happened when Senator Clinton took the gloves off, and bashed Senator Obama blow after blow. She began winning States by 60% or more. If she had begun the Attacks earlier, she would currently be the Democrat Nominee. You cannot look weak in Politics by being an Apologist.
