@abhinabhan No, he didn't die. Mike Nolan (in the blue shirt) was very seriously injured in a coach crash in 1984, one or two days after filming this appearance. He was in a coma for a couple of days, but thankfully he recovered. He is now working with Cheryl and Jay (the two females) in his own group. Hopefully there will be a new cd out next year, called "Fame and Fortune?"
I never heard it before (unfortunately) because I used to like Bucks Fizz very much just because only one song that was released in Brazil with no success "If You Can't Stand The Heat" by the way I still love it.
Is that true that one of the males died in a car accident?
i remember buying this song on 7" when it came out, i was 12 at the time. Listening to the lyrics now the song means so much more than a catchy tune. Thoroughly enjoyable :)
crying shame they are relatively unknown in the US
thanks to my BF who had a tape of their greatest hits in his tape collection. I now own 4 Bucks Fizz CD's thanks to that little nown tape in his collection.
@FatknackerMacca yep this was b4 the accident u can tell by mikes hair.. i love the song but it holds horrible memories of the accident . im thank full they are all ok now . it was a terrble time for both friends , family and fans
From what I remember at the time, this was due to be screened on ITV a day or so after their accident and was recorded a day before it but out of respect for Mikes condition and the at the time unknown status of the band it was 'postponed'. Surprisingly though, it got a lot of airplay on radio and TV but still didn't do too good in the chart :(
Hate the whole pink & blue thing. Cheryl looks like Angelica off Rugrats! Ridiculously edited version. I know there must be time constraints so they sometimes omit the second verse. They once performed Can't Stand The Heat on Razzmatazz, and it couldn't have lasted any longer than 90 secs. Love the middle eight. Wasn't this their last tv prior to the crash?
One of my favourite eighties group and song!
I wonder why it wasn't a big hit?
