Ernie Thacker & Route 23 perform bluegrass for diplomats in Helsinki, Finland in June of 2005. The band came Finland to perform at The Ruotsinpyhtaa Bluegrass Festival, a cool club in Karja, an old church, and some other events. This clip demonstrates the intimacy and intensity of great bluegrass music in an acoustic setting - fine art in performance!

Special thanks to the bluegrass world that continues to support and love Ernie Thacker and Route 23. Special kudos also goes to Jussi Syren, a fine mandolinist and bluegrass promoter in Finland.
I had Earnie and the boys play for me at a small festival in Deering Ohio a few years back, they were awesome and watching this video both breaks my heart and made me smile.
