Mesabi Miner - "Biggest Ship Ever!"

**PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU COMMENT**
This video is titled what it is simply because you can hear my mom JOKINGLY remark, "This is the biggest ship ever!", hence the quotation marks in the title. The point of the video is that it's a big ship. Please do not leave any more comments saying that there are other ships that are bigger. I am very well aware of that. My mom is aware of that. I really don't need any more comments telling me the Knock Nevis is bigger. Thank you.

The Mesabi Miner was named in honor of the people of the Mesabi Iron Range in Minnesota.

She is big, but not the largest ship on the great lakes. That title would be held by the 1013' Paul R Tregurtha.

Haha, yeah, I filmed this before we knew about the Paul, but since then we've discovered this webcam of the canal, it has the shipping schedule of the incoming and outgoing ships plus their lengths. We'll both sit and watch it, but it doesn't compare to being right up there with the ships! ;)

Seawise Giant (1979-1989) Jhara Viking (Idk) Knock Nevis (Idk) is 1,504.10 feet long. It weighs 563,763 tons and is powered by a humungus steam turbine. Japan alongated it after they dicided to. Now, 2 years after Knock Nevis was rammed into a indian beach and taken apart, it was still the largest oil tanker in the world!
