A splendid version of the Children's favourite, perfomed as The Eva Three Step by Harold Davidson and His Orchestra - taken from the Music For Pleasure L.P. - Honour Your Partners.

Harold Davidson was born in 1892 and amongst other great achievements, was featured in the BBC programme, "Those were the days", with his Old Time Dance Orchestra.

Teddy Bear's Picnic was composed in 1907 by the American composer, John Walter Bratton and had the familiar lyrics added by the Irish songwriter, Jimmy Kennedy in 1932.

I do hope you enjoy this wonderful old tune. I'm not sure of the date of the recording, but its tone suggests to me that it dates from the 1940s or early 50s. Please let me know if you have more information.

  • Great version Neil!

    I think you're right with the age...Late 40's or very early 50's!

Just realised that this new RP2 of yours has stolen the Goldrings parking space...haha!!

I'm sure it will vacate that nice corner if you threaten it with a 78....haha!!

    Great upload!!! :)

  • @GarrardAT6 Yes, it pinched the corner when the Goldring wasn't looking! There aren't many surfaces here without anything on them, usually record, record player or radio related!

The GL72 is biding its time, waiting for me to find some nice 78s to upload!

  • Hay Neil,

Love the credits roll bit - just great.

    Warm regards

    Richard

  • Love it! Check out our original arrangement of THE TEDDY BEAR'S PICNIC when you have time!

  • @RetroBallroomFun Yeah thats why there are no videos on 2ndpyleofvinyl yet. By Sunday you shall see some. I am trying to finish this math course. I have an exam on Friday and I usually go hunting for albums on Saturday.

  • @APyleOfVinyl Oh yes, I have quite a lot! Just a matter of finding time to upload some more - I'll try to get around to it very soon!

  • @RetroBallroomFun Do you have any more of this great music?

  • @APyleOfVinyl It's a 1960s pressing, but I think the material is from late 1940s or early 1950s recordings - it certainly has that sound quality , as you say.

  • @sablestable Thanks, Andrew, I'm pleased you enjoyed it!
