Thanks Matt for this video. I am very interested in the collaborations of the Dalai Lama (and other Buddhists) with cognitive scientists. Thompson here articulates the rationalle for why this would be a fruitful collaboration.

Using Buddhists as guinea pigs for cognitive science resembles the use of the Chinese peoples as the Working Class for the West.
They'll then supply not only the passive bodies that produce all our products but now the passive minds too.
The only thing I can't decide yet is if this is a two-for-one deal, a "free" gift or a 50% extra promotion!
