The beginning of Knuckles Adventure, my favorite one out of the whole game. All of the stages consist on searching for pieces of the Master Emerald to restore it. The story starts in the night as we see a floating island in the sky (Angel Island) and the Egg Carrier heading towards it, we then cut to dialogue of Knuckles explaining why he stays there on Angel Island, to protect a sacred power know as the Master Emerald which was created to control the 7 Chaos Emeralds and also gives the island power to stay floating in the sky. When all seems well Knuckles hears a shatter and we see Chaos (The main antagonist in the game) standing there and the Master Emerald in ruins, furious Knuckles assuming Chaos shattered the Master Emerald attempts to fight Chaos but is overwhelmed and Chaos disappears. Now without the Emeralds magic powers Angel Island will fall from the sky and into the ocean. Now Knuckles finds himself in Station Square and on a adventure to find the pieces of the Master Emerald to restore and bring Angel Island back to the sky.
The main thing is to find pieces of the Master Emerald and use a tracking device at the bottom of the screen which turns colors when you get closer or further away from a piece. Blue means cold and will blink normally, Green means closer in which case will blink more quicker, Yellow means very close and will blink faster, Pink means really close and will blink very fast, Red means dead on target and will blink rapidly. You can also ask Tikal (The glowing balls of light) to help lead you to the pieces location as well. Emerald Shards also have random spawn points, so everytime you re-enter the stage later on in Trials or Missions, they will be in different locations of the stage.
We Start Part 1 with Stage 1 Speed Highway in which you find 3 pieces first, then afterwards its night time in Station Square so that can only mean one thing, that the Casino is now open which you have to hit the switch to open the door (Why its like that, i don't know) But now onto Stage 2 Casinopolis and repeat the same thing, find 3 pieces of the Master Emerald, after thats done Knuckles heads into the past the first of 3 times and hears a conversation between Tikal and her father and then is transported back into the present and heads to the hotel where he sees Eggman holding a Chaos Emerald that he stole from Sonic and Tails just now (You see them sleeping on the ground after you come back from the past) and mistakes it for a piece of the Master Emerald and of course chases after him, he confronts Eggman on the observation deck to learn it wasn't a piece, Eggman decides to use it on Knuckles as a test which Chaos comes out of no where already in his Chaos 1 stage, Knuckles knows who it is and says he can now get him for last time they met, Eggman give Chaos the emerald and becomes Chaos 2 which doesn't matter to Knuckles. Then we get a Sub Boss, Chaos 2 and is easy to defeat, afterwards Eggman then tells Knuckles that Sonic is after the pieces of the Master Emerald as well (Sonic 3 & Knuckles redo) which Knuckles heads to the Mystic Ruins and says he better find Sonic and figure it out.
