Day 2 of a suspicionless federal homeland security checkpoint being conducted on Southern Arizona's SR86 - over 40 miles North of the border.

The stop took place on January 9, 2008. Additional information is available here:

These internal citizenship checkpoints are becoming increasingly common across the Southern United States with similar checkpoints starting to appear in the North as well.

  • Look at the CBP_Sectors_Map

Map of border patrol sectors they are federal agents and are not restricted or limited too the immediate border.

  • I was looking at Border Patrol sector maps when you were about 3 years old redgunner132. Where the Border Patrol can operate is not a question here. How they operate & what their lawful authority is at the border versus inside the country is.

  • @CheckpointUSA They have check points 40+miles from the boarder in all states that boarder mexico. This isn't just in Arizona and theres nothing wrong with it. (Falfurrias_Checkpoint_South_Texas) <seizes millions in contraband and thousands of illegals.

Thousands of illegals caught millions in drugs and contraband seized. These check points help, as far as profiling there are Mexicans and OTM's(other than mexicans) But when 95%+ of illegals are hispanic it narrows it down

  • redgunner132 - you keep spelling border wrong.

What makes you think I don't know there are Border Patrol checkpoints in all states bordering Mexico?

What makes you think there is nothing wrong with stopping, seizing, detaining, interrogating & seeking to search domestic traffic absent suspicion inside the country instead of patrolling the actual border especially given that border patrolling is far more effective than suspicionless seizing no where near the border?

  • @CheckpointUSA I'm 12 maybe my spelling sucks. Obviously you do know about the points. They are not interrogating. They are asking a simple question: Are you a united states citizen? All you have to say is "yes" and they let you go. You on the other hand refused to go to secondary inspection. If the officer had wanted to pull you out for refusing they could've done that and they would've been within their rights. If you think board patrol only work within sight of mexico your ignorant. Research.

  • I'll give you some slack because you're 12 redgunner132 but I'll assume you'll spell border correctly in the future now.

The agent would have been committing an assault on my person if he had tried to pull me out of my vehicle & I would have held him fully accountable for doing so. I'm well versed in the laws that come into play here & have successfully taken similar issues to court in the past. You're welcome to checkout my website & blog to find out more.

  • The purpose should be self evident eej2121. With regards to doing their job, Border Patrol agents aren't when they're harassing domestic traffic inside the country at suspicionless checkpoints instead of patrolling the border like they're paid to.

  • OH NO! Another authoritarian complaining about individuals exercising their rights. What's the matter Travincall? The violation of individual rights is all right with you as long as it's not your rights that are being violated? Is that a "conservative" principle or just an authoritarian principle?

BTW, I'm not "liberal" in the modern sense of the word. You really should learn your classifications better before incorrectly using them online.

  • You're doing a kick ass job Sir. You show them for what they are, uneducated, clueless bullies.

  • @redgunner132 .. kudos for actually putting some thought into your comments. Now consider this: Imagine if police detained and questioned every 12 year old male wandering a certain street during school hours. This is called 'profiling' ie pulling people of a certain demographic over and questioning them while letting others go simply based on there appearance.

... And rest assured CheckpointUSA although not stopped will have has his details noted due to the video cameras.

  • Silly boy. Why don't you prove I don't know how to apply the law by having me successfully prosecuted during my next encounter at an internal suspicionless Border Patrol checkpoint f22alphabravo.

  • Of course we pay their salary f22alphabravo. All government funds are ultimately public funds or held in the public trust. Are you claiming DHS is a private entity?
