GOP to Obama: "It's Time to Start Over"

Responding to the president's health care address to Congress, Rep. Charles Boustany, R-La., said "it's time to start over on a common-sense, bipartisan plan focused on lowering the cost of health care while improving quality." (Sept. 9)

Its amazing the four points this guy speaks about have already been mentioned by Obama, yet none of these GOP hypocrites have voiced any support. Nor will they take on the INS COS because of contributions and lobbiest.

Truth be told, no way the GOP is going to agree to anything, even if it was 98% their plan, so as to not give any victory to Obama. That's the sad truth in all of this. Sadly the DEMS do the same. The political system is broken, beyond repair most likely.

All but education are all constitutionally the duty of the govt. Medicare, Medicade, Social Security, so called "Homeland Security. I will say, I have never been arrested but i wholly and completely believe and have seen many police abuse, misuse and commit conspiracy. I know of a few illegal instances with "Homeland Security". I have been asked to stay quiet about them, it happend in southern illinois. So no I really have no trust or respect for the government. I also served in the navy.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. You see,  I received a quality education from a public university so I stay busy at a job that's possible because we live in a country protected by the US military, made safe by police and fire depts, and that i get to on public roads. I've worked in the corporate world for 25 years. where I've seen some appallingly bad management. So can you clarify your point about govt. doing things right?

Why is it so hard for some Americans to comprehend that making money and profit out of people's misery and pain is WRONG. The Canadian system is as good if not better that the US and it even costs less tax "per citizen". In Canada the focus is quality care while maintaining cost. In US, it is the god of greed and the religion of money first.

One we have never been a "democracy", look on our U.S. Seal. If it were a democracy you would be voting on anything and everything, we are a Representative Republic, just like Rome was. Two, with the democratice healthcare bill, if you dont get health insurance you can be fined or put in jail. The government would have full access to all your records since they can already look at your bank records, and phone records. I just want someone to name me one thing the gov can run right

I would give Mr. Boustany some more respect for this message, apparently aimed at a bipartisan spirit of compromise, if it weren't for the fact that under 8 years of Bush, they didn't attempt any real health care reform. I think they're saying we'll talk reform until we can stall this legislation to death and then we can go back to....whatever it is they do.

Rep. Boustany has received $1,256,056 from health and insurance interests since first being elected in 2004. The total counts for more than 20 percent of all of his fundraising.
