1950 American propaganda!
Survival Under Atomic Attack was the title of an official United States government booklet released by the Executive Office of the President, the National Security Resources Board (document 130), and the Civil Defense Office. Released at the dawn of the Cold War era, the pamphlet was in line with rising fears that the Soviet Union, a newly emerging world power, would launch a nuclear attack against the United States, and outlined what to do in the event of an atomic attack.

Who knows what we need for protection today? Protection from what or whom? Do what to do in case of a nuclear attack? Wait around for the govt to do what? What will you do if a nuclear or "dirty" bomb is detonated in your city? If you think the US Border Patrol, Airport inspections or cops in NYC (as an example) can protect you 100% think again. ;)

@zeke1312: ...and that, TADA, was exactly my point. Sorry, I forgot that irony doesn't text well. This film was made in Truman's administration. 101Phase said "this is mostly propaganda" because he was hiding the "truth about horror weapons". He, or indeed anyone, had little inkling about the H-bomb except for perhaps 50 scientists worldwide, and a few military. They knew nothing about rockets (except V2), MIRVs, SSBNs, you name it. So, please go back and read my post in that light.

@puncheex Persident Truman knew about the things you posted? Let's see Truman was president from 1945 thru 1953. The B1 bomber was developed in the mid 1970's. We are talking 20 years +/- after Truman left office. All the weapon systems you posted were developed well after he left office. Where do your "facts" come from?
