"The Lost Lakes of Bangalore" is a project to document Bengaluru's many tanks and lakes which have vanished with unplanned urbanization and growth.
This video by Ajay Reddy, Dr.Radha Krishnan, Major Pramod Kapur, Raj Ramchandani and Kiran Nayak from Kormangala 3rd block Residents Welfare Association talk about Mestripalya lake in koramangala which is a 11 acre tank. The lake had lot of migratory birds and animals and a beautiful place to walk. The tank has been an existence since the mid 1800 s and provided drinking water for people and cattle living in the villages nearby and also water for irrigation.
