60's Carnaby Street -Dandies In The Underworld Part 1

Carnaby Street was the epicentre of all things Mod in the ''Swinging 60's'' you know even though I was born in '64 the 60's were more 'free'' than today, take a look at Body Painting in Lady Janes in this video, you couldn't open a shop like that in 2011, they certainly had a helluva lot more freedom than now, that is for sure, from ''Male'' mens shop, to John Stephen and Lord John, plus a great shop called ''Take 6'' were they had bands playing while you shopped, no wonder Carnaby Street earned the name ''uber cool'', Anyone who was SOMEONE graced Carnaby Street with their presence, even Jimmy Saville, with a girl and a stuffed Octopus on his arm!!!! Hey, it was the 60's after all, enjoy!!!

Seems like the other day when I was shopping in Carnaby street and going into Lord Johns.

I also worked down one of the allys off of it and we used to arrange a kick about over in regents park with people who worked in the shops.

The Brits have always been one of the pioneers of great fashion with their creativity and eye for wonderful fashion pieces just like the French and Italians of course. The Germans were not bad either. Americans on the other hand have no sense of creativity nor do they have the eye for aesthetic whether its architecture, fashion etc.
