WARNING: If you're the type of person who thinks it's horrible to feed another animal insects/rodents/fish/etc Save me the annoyance of having to look at your whining and click the back button/X button.

Anyways. This is Logos. I'm not sure how old he is; I'm guessing three or four years. I've had him for about one year now. He's a Western Slender Glass Lizard; a.k.a legless lizard. Commonly mistaken for a snake, legless lizards are more related to skinks than they are snakes. Like lizards, legless lizards blink, have external ears, and shed in patches. Another interesting thing is that they can drop their tails.

Logos here, is a wild caught specimen. I found him on the porch and decided to catch him instead of having the possibility of the outdoor cats eating him. As you can see, he has done well. He eats quite well and has grown a bit. I'm not able to handle him, but he doesn't mind my hands being in his tank. His diet consists of crickets and grasshoppers. Now and then, I'll dust his food with a vitamin/calcium dust to make sure he gets all the nutrients he needs.

I don't really advise going out and hunting for wild reptiles; not all of them will eat in captivity, and many require specialized diet. If you do catch one, do your research on if you can meet the animal's requirements. Even if you can, they don't always eat. So, if they refuse to eat after about a week, week and a half, just let them go.

  • what did you feed it

  • @WaltFosterpictures Grasshopper.

  • did you catch it

  • Another idea I've heard instead of dusting them( but it has 2 be done with pinkies) and I understand if u can't get them my mom won't but u slather honey on a pinkies leg and put calcium or something healthy on the honey and it will lick itself clean and yur snake will enjoy that or if it don't understand if its 2 dumb to eat it will be a honey treat for yur lizard and always feed yur crickets gut load always feed the animal that yur feeding to yur animal healthy food

  • @shroomstealer ..Pinkies are too big. Lizards aren't like snakes. They can't unhinge their jaw. I also sure as hell wouldn't feed my snake honey. I don't even dust the mice my snake gets since the mouse has everything she needs. As for the crickets my lizards get, they're not only gut loaded, they're dusted with calcium.
