@busycando Thanks, I tried a piece and it held an ember for a while! I think the oil lamp wick worked out well, and now I have my char cloth to add to the flint and steel prize for my 500 sub contest. Thanks for watching, Be safe..........JP.

@Waldhandwerk Thanks Sepp, The oil lamp wick worked well, and holds an ember for a while! I had to do it twice to char all the pieces, but they are all ready for use now! Thanks for watching, be safe........JP.
