when u turn sideways u push ur wheels facing upward the hill down. so they work as a brake...sorry i know it was a old post, just wanted to help ya out if knowone told you

that's totally it. you had enough time to power slide before the idiot driving even saw you. then he slowed down so late that he would have been even more of a danger if you weren't totally in control of your vehicle. ride on
