In June of 1999, CSX and Norfolk Southern took over Conrail. For CSX, they contracted with the New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway to operate several trains to help relieve congestion on the now CSX River Line. The very first westbound train was CSX ML-401, now NYSW ML-401, which was a Doremus Avenue-Newark,NJ to Stanley-Toledo, Ohio train. This train you will see operated on June 26, 1999 with CSXT 9040, UP 9493, CR 2805(nowCSXT), GATX 7374, and CSXT 8555 followed by 112 autoracks. GATX 7374 was dead and CSX 8555 had issues with overheating, with radiator doors open. I also believe this may have been the first Union Pacific locomotive on NYSW. Scenes you will see include Covered Bridge Road, Warwick, NY on the NYS&W Southern Division......Hamptonburg Road, Campbell Hall on the now NS Hudson Secondary Track..and Campbell Hall, NY on the NJT Port Jervis Line. Earlier in the day, CSX/NYSW eastbound TV-18 came through. Video of that will follow soon. I hope you enjoy. Sorry for poor quality in the beginning...
