Atheists view themselves as too logical or rational to believe in a Creator of any sort, when in reality, with this, they create a box to hide inside of and to protect them from having to acknowledge something greater than humankind and themselves as individuals. They limit their ability to understand the purpose of human existance because of some thread of possible uncertainty, because science declares all things understandable, but somethings aren't comprehendable, like the infinity of space.

@TK501ST Always the "nothing/something" dichotomy. To apply our concepts of nothing and something to something that goes beyond such definitions will fail any legitimate reasoning. What makes you think we're something? We could be nothing.
"Nothing can only give rise to nothing. Since the "nothingness" will have existed in eternity, then it would have eternally been "nothing", nothing would have been generated from it."
By your standards God would be nothing.

“Perhaps the best argument…that the Big Bang supports theism is the obvious unease with which it is greeted by some atheist physicists. At times this has led to scientific ideas… being advanced with a tenacity which so exceeds their intrinsic worth that one can only suspect the operation of psychological forces lying very much deeper than the usual academic desire of a theorist to support his or her theory”

@EvilSaintNick2 That's not the case at all.
The basic reason is that the Big Bang theory, which is the fact of how our universe came into existence, actually demands an original cause, and the reason we believe is because we reject "Spontaneous Generation"
We reject it because it is utterly absurd.
Nothing can only give rise to nothing. Since the "nothingness" will have existed in eternity, then it would have eternally been "nothing", nothing would have been generated from it.
Peace!

Frank Tipler:
"When I began my career as a cosmologist some twenty years ago, I was a convinced atheist. I never in my wildest dreams imagined that one day I would be writing a book purporting to show that the central claims of Judeo-Christian theology are in fact true, that these claims are straightforward deductions of the laws of physics as we now understand them. I have been forced into these conclusions by the inexorable logic of my own special branch of physics."

@freethinker2008 What's important is to spread the truth about the Big Bang & Evolution etc to all people of faith
For many reasons, but among them, so that we can *reclaim* science which has been hijacked to use as a tool to discredit believers, when in fact it is nothing of the sort (science merely shows us the mechanisms of action of the universe)
Atheist are pulling a scam by claiming that one has to "choose" between either science or faith, which is nonsense!

What's beyond YOUR "primitive brains"? Well that's your dilemma which I highly doubt you'll ever resolve it. And the REALITY here is you don't know that you're in the LOWEST bracket of the food chain. You're lower than an idiot; even lower than a microbe. You're the microbe's SCUM. ")
-
it's you who's actually showing insecurity here. you can't acknowledge the fact that atheists are too dumb to understand anything beyond your primitive brains. lol

No we don't. We look at the universe for what it is and don't project our own insecurities on it. There's no reason to believe in a god, let alone any currentely available.
"They limit their ability to understand the purpose of human existance"
So what is it oh great sage? We look at things for what they are.
good video...proud of you...we need more of this!!!

Here is my definition of a Free Thinker. Someone who looks at all sides, and comes up with his/her own believes. So with that definition, Bible Believers can also be free-thinkers.

That's exactly my point.
