Chalk Talk on Alcohol is a three part discussion of the nations' number one public health problem, alcoholism.
Father Martin discusses the things we drink, why we drink them and what happens when someone has the disease of alcoholism. Alcohol is a sedative drug and is addictive. Alcoholism is an addiction to that drug for which there is effective treatment.

  • I m also an alcoholic and looser of life :(

  • @DemetriouWanker Please consider attending a 12 step meeting. You'll learn that you aren't a looser of life but rather someone with an illness that beatable. And, you'll meet others who can help.

  • I'm an alcoholic and only 23 year old.... .. my lever is bad and i dont know if I want to stop drinking....

  • Father Joseph C. Martin is an alcoholic

  • Did you know that people that go to church are trying to escape hell, they are religious!!

People that are in AA and become spiritual, have put themselves through hell, there is a big difference! I have experienced the journey of being sober for 25 years, I wouldn't change a thing.

  • I love Fr. Joe!!!

  • Alcohol makes me go to my happy place, as cocaine, meth-amphetamine, Ecstasy if world would be nice place to live i wouldn't be doing these drugs. So nice try Father Joseph but the problem lies deeper in our selfs.

  • @Towgnr14 I don't know why people bash AA so much. At the end of the day I (and my family and friends) would be much happier that I was sober, however I chose to go about doing it. I have been sober for three years, and I got sober through AA. My method of remaining sober does not harm myself, my family nor anybody else. I'm a musician so I often perform in bars and I don't drink. I never had to stop talking to any of my old friends from before I came into AA, and we are all still friends today.

  • @SJPatrik i came to aa 23 years old,and kept on and off the drink for the next few years theres plenty yonger alkoholics that you can talk to and see for yourself if you like it or not.

  • only 23... thats funny.. thats not really "young" ..I was potentially an alcoholic in 8th grade and guaranteed alcoholic entering high school & I met many people who were in drinking trouble younger ! "want to stop drinking" ? chances are high you may not even be able to...the numbers of people who stop and stay stopped isn't even comparable to those who try and fail or don't ever attempt to.

  • THANK YOU FATHER JOSEPH FURWA FOUNDATION VIDEO........VLAURUS GLOBAL

  • I'm an alchy and he's right

  • I respect him,I went to Ashley 22 yrs ago ,his words and AA 's have kept me sober,I am not a brainwashed idiot, but I am free to think now that I am sober.
