This is a video of the American Justice Institute that goes every year to the Navajo Nation and helps the people there. I want people that call themselves chrisitans to look around them. Every day there is suffering around where we live. How do we help? How do we really show Christ? AJI is not a religious organization. This video was produced by me becasue of my first visit to the Rez and how it changed my life. I am currently in college to pursue a law degree. I want to work in the area of civil rights and to help correct years of wrong.

Why do you have to use "christian doctrine" to help native peoples.
They were doing just fine before they heard about religious books. There is a long history of the church and missionaries "helping" the native peoples.
Just go and help them as fellow Human Beings... not as prospective christians.
Jesus may be the way for you, but allow all peoples to follow their own spirituality.

I agree. Americans as a whole are clueless about ALL issues related to Native Americans. We lived on the Navajo Rez for a year and came to love these people dearly. Mining is a HUGE issue to them and should be to the rest of us white eyes. How can we get the information about the mining and its effects on our native brothers and sisters to the rest of America? Surely there is SOMEONE that has the resources to do this!

Brainerdrebel is a Constitutionalist. The document that limits the federal governments authority. You are right the taxes on my water are local. The combinations of local state and federal taxes have made us all poor, Rich. The federal government controls the EPA and regulations that cause the local water company to tax me. Which party are YOU? Look at what the mainstream (pun) parties, they have combined to ruin our Union. Clinton passed NAFTA, Bush and Obomba has raised the debt.

The average american is the one who needs help. We are tax slaves, we are taxed for everything under the sun. The corporation known as the THE UNITED STATES takes advantage of everybody, not just native americans. Can you imagine what all our ancestors would think about paying for water and then being taxed for it?

@brainerdrebel Yea the be amazed of the quality of the drinking water that we have. They also would be amazed of the sewer system and have no problem for you paying taxes to provided the services rendered. They were not against taxes, just the way they were done with out representation.

Which chemical in our drinking water would our ancestors be amazed, fluoride (originally rat poison, read the warning on your tooth paste) Chlorine (bleach), lead, lime, industrial waste, human sewage, etc. My sewer tax originally was to build the system and the tax would end, we all know how that goes. I hope Anthony Weiner, Charlie Rangle, Barney Frank or John McCain represent you, what a joke. We have non-representation. Wake Up!

@brainerdrebel Really? Must be a tea partier. They are the only ones who seem to take liberty with the history and structure of government. You do realize that one the only thing Federal is the amount of those things you sighted can be allowed in your water, right? You do realize that the water you drink and pay for is responsiablity of the local government right? Chances are that the taxes are sales tax, guessing cause my water isn't taxed. Unless its bottled.

@brainerdrebel Just to let you know if you are taxed on water, I am not. Then it must be the local or state governments doing. WHich if that is the case, then none of the people you cited would be involved in that. Just for you to know. The items you cited in the water are there, but that better than drinking water right out of the river and it a whole lot better to do then or even 30 years ago.
