A hard, bold and pretty violent song by the Horrors. Eerie tamborines rattle their way through heavy guitar drones and Faris spits sounding like a Devil's acolyte. An amazing sound. Taken from the Horrors second album, 'PRIMARY COLOURS' (2009). LISTEN LOUD.
Faris Badwan - vocals. Joshua Hayward - guitar. Tim Cowan - synthesizer. Rhys Webb - bass. Joseph Spurgeon (Coffin Joe) - drums.
Across the pathless sands
Through jungle, blind I run
No guide taken in hand
And no idea where to turn
No sanctuary found
I tear myself in two
I pray for scarlet fields to save me
Whole and white and pure
I can't control myself
Lend one of your hands 'cause I
I can't control myself
I dream of lost desires
Fingers run through fur
I drive myself insane
The rain cascades onto the dirt
And in the throes of love
Where the shadows burst in flames
I cast myself abandoned
With a cry I call your name
I can't control myself
I try and I try but I
I can't control myself
I can't control myself
Lend one of your hands 'cause I
I can't control myself
Or hold myself in though I try
I can't control myself
Deliver me from the fire
I can't control myself
anyone know the solo to this song?

thought the same.. Joy Division definitely in this song. Mix that with My Bloody Valentine or other shoegaze and a bit of their garage psych stuff and that's almost but not quite what this song's like.

to see a band progress this much from their last album, to hit the studio and come out with this record deserve some pat on the back for it.......i say the synth, tambourines, and dirty guitar laced with feedback and reverb works.
not unlike joy diviion when they started out as warsaw. (there's a song on the warsaw lp called "the kill" listen to it and it'sa clear indicationto where faris gets his vocal style from.
all in all a top class album from a very good modern band....we need more of this
