Kamalamba Navavaranam - Mangala Krithi; Sri Ragam; Kanda Ekam; Composed by Sri Muthuswamy Dikshithar in praise of Sri Kamalamba, consort of Sri Thyagaraja Swamy (Shiva), of Thiruvarur.
This mangala krithi formed the conclusion of a rendering of the Navavaranam by nine U.S. children who were disciples of the Cleveland Aradhana's 2008 Sustaining Sampradhayam program. The concert was held in the Sri Parasakthi Temple, Pontiac (Detroit), Michigan, as part of the Navarathri celebration during the Temple's Ninth Anniversary Celebrations.
The children had learnt original Patantharam of Navavaranam from respected gurus including Sri R.K. Srikantan, Sri B. Krishnamurthy, Smt. Jayalakshmi Santhanam, Smt. Suguna Varadhachari, Smt. Nirmala Sundararajan, Sri T.K. Govinda Rao, and the Carnatica Brothers, Sri Sashikiran & Sri Ganesh. This Sri Ragam krithi was taught by Smt. Suguna Varadhachari.
