Last Letter of Sri Lankan Journalist before his Assassination on January 8, 2009. (Part 1)

As a tribute to Lasantha Wickramatunga, the senior investigative journalist recently assassinated in Sri Lanka, we would like to share with you one of his last writings. Lasantha Wickramatunga was the founder and chief editor of the Sunday Leader, one of the few newspapers in Sri Lanka that have dared to report fearlessly on the deteriorating situation in the country. As a result of his courage he was assassinated on January 8, 2009. Due to threats and the general situation that journalists face in Sri Lanka, he knew that his death was an imminent possibility. In expectation of this, he wrote this letter, which serves as part of his legacy and also as a warning to others.

Who are you?

Its sad he was killed, Cos we are better than that.

He had anti incumbent government views, which is actually a good thing.

But out of the hate towards the government he was toning down the military victories, and politicians used it to demonize him. And frankly i don't think people would miss him. He wouldn't have lasted a month with that kind of reporting in US media. We know what happened to Bill Maher for his comments.

I will take examples from the every corner of the history, Invading Iraq for OIL,Invading Afghanistan, All the African countries in the last century, Red Indians in America, Vietnam War, Uva Wellassa in Sri Lanka, Latin American countries. I'll shorten the list by mentioning only the name of the country. Serbia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Laos, Cambodia, North Korea, if you want more I can expand the list. We are very cautious when you people are trying to act like peace makers than invaders. WE KNOW YOU!!

When you are pointing one finger to others, remember other four is towards you. Mahinda may responsible for killing of Lasantha, I don't know. But definitely we don't need advices from the most ruthless killers in the history of man kind, WHITES (Americans and Europeans) Everybody who even has a very little knowledge on International relations (INR) or history knows that.
