A Southern Gospel rendition. The song's first verse is: "Jesus calls us over the tumult of our life's wild, restless, sea; Day by day His sweet voice soundeth, saying, 'Christian, follow Me!'"
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (January 16), I filled in at a local Lutheran Church. I played this as the Hymn of the Day. I did so because the Gospel was John 1: 29-42. It is #696 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
At last! My favorite Hymn the way it should be! I fondly remember this from my Childhood. There's something to be said about the piano tune! Thank you!

Oh, How Sweet the Sound of a beautiful hymn played just as it was written. I love your flourish free rendition. Hope to hear more of this! 10 Stars*

Well-played! Perfect phrasing and tempo for congregational singing.
I played this for a service today (and will again tomorrow!) but set to the tune "Restoration" which I don't really care for.
