The best part about this old spiritual is that the lyrics say, "I ain't gonna study war no more.'' Peace, empathy, compassion, awareness... they all take practice to master... like music!

[Produced and recorded by Mills James Productions for "The Piano Guy" on public television. Used with permission.]

  • Can't wait to hear this live on June 26 during the Jazz & Blues Fest in Delaware, Ohio. This will make the BBQ taste even better. An amazing performance!!

  • @rockies73 The Jazz and Blues Fest turned out to be a really nice event. At first, I thought it would just be everyone talking over the music but folks really tuned in and listened.

  • I could've sworn I heard some Autumn Leaves in there somewhere, did you do that on purpose? Regardless, you're an amazing player.

  • Hmmm. I think you may be hearing chords that are similar to "Autumn Leaves" right around :54. It's part of a "cycle progression" that is also in "Fly Me to The Moon", "All the Things You Are" and many others.

Thanks for listening so closely and also for the compliment!
