In an event organised in collaboration with Greenpeace, hundreds of naked people braved the cold on Aug. 18 to highlight the impacts of climate change on the Atletsch Glacier in the Swiss Alps. The nude volunteers posed for renowned installation artist Spencer Tunick in an event that signified and created a symbolic link between people and glaciers which are rapidly retreating as a result of climate change. Greenpeace predicts that if global warming continues at its current rate, most glaciers in Switzerland are expected to have completely disappeared by 2080 with nothing but valleys and slopes remaining in their place. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) the world only has eight years remaining to take the urgent action needed to curb catastrophic climate change.

  • And what purpose did this serve, again?

I know lets see how fast naked bodies melt the glaciers compared to the guys that are filming and standing around that do have clothes on. Can't be just one study guys! Don't think that I am anti green ...I am anti over the top.

  • i think im not wrong about this... many of guys went there because of naked girls... and i think many of guys there got erected dick... (well its my opinion, please respect) but then lets respect them too about what have they done.

  • 1:12 all there butts are white haha

  • why this CUNT artist dont undress him self?

  • Dogstar totally misrepresents poor sourcing of one single claim in a very large report.

The IPCC has not admitted anything even close to what you claim. Are you ignorant of the problem found in the report, or are you deliberately lying? Removing the one questionable claim does not change the conclusions one bit.

Scientists can be wrong. They may be wrong on AGW. But, the arguments put forward by anti-AGW people in the popular press are just terrible and specious.

  • *facepalm*

The IPCC has recently admittedly publicly that it's previous report on glacial melting was inaccurate - i.e. something it overhead from someone down the pub.

AGW activists are naive to the point of being dangerous. Tell 'em anything, and as long as it's got 'man-made climate change' in the title they'll start lecturing - and hectoring - us all.

    Evidence, be damned.

  • why do this? Well, how many of you clicked on this because it said "Aletsch glacier" ( a really nice place, BTW)? And how many of you clicked on it because it said "naked"? The same thing goes for newspeople and for decision makers. Predictable curiosity is a good media tool.

  • hahaha! Great comment man.

  • so wait... how does freezing your dick off in freezing teperatures represent climate change? i dont get it. its kind of pointless. representing it and doing something about it are 2 different things guys

  • Climate change is fre PR for nuclear power! CO2 supports life on Earth, nuclear power kills it!
