  • G'day mate, yeah "popping the clutch" means releasing it quite quickly while having a little throttle applied. This allows the front wheel to come up off the ground easier and faster just before the obstacle so as you can maximize your ability at conquering large logs like these. Keep on roosting!!!

  • G'day mate, you just give the front brake a quick, slight squeeze which helps the front wheel pop up easier due to the resulting compression and rebound of the forks. The rear brake will not be able to do the same effect. You do it when necessary, and yes you can achieve the same result by pushing down on the forks. Hopefully we'll get to QLD for some DirtWise schools soon. Keep on roosting!!!

  • i know this may sound stupid but when you go over big logs should you pop the clutch a little to pop the front tire over it??

  • @volta229 - G'day mate, it depends on the situation whether you need to pop the clutch or just crack open the throttle - sometimes you'll use one of those techniques, other times you'll use the other one. Either way you need to make sure that you get the front wheel high enough that it touches the top of the log as you go over it. Keep on roosting!

  • @15156495 pull in the clutch when ur moving give it gas when its pulled in like your doing a holshot and then let the clutch out and pull up at the same time and lean back

  • I am coming to your camp this weekend

  • @DirtWiseRidingSchool Thank You so much!! I will try this. watching all your videos gives my a lot of confidence

  • I'm sure this also sounds stupid but what do you mean by poping the clutch? just giving the lever just a little snap or re-engaging the clutch and giving it lots of gas to get the front end over? I'm really stuck on this whole "get the front end up thing". Maybe I'm just bad with the clutch, but i don't think i am. I need some help please!!

  • This guys in The Moto 3!!!

  • nice school

  • that last guy ate shit

  • G'day, could you please shed some light on the method of using the front brake to preload the forks. Do you do this with the back brake or on it's own? Do you do it all the time? Can you get the same effect by just pushing down on the forks? When are you going to do one of your schools in Queensland :)
