Pakistan forces under attack - 15 Oct 09

The Pakistani Taliban has claimed a series of attacks targeting police officers from Kohat in the northwest to Lahore in the east.

They are the latest in a surge of attacks in the country as the government prepares for a ground offensive into South Waziristan, a key Taliban stronghold.

The Taliban have said they will fight to the death and bring the battle to Pakistan's major urban centres.

Al Jazeera's Imran Khan reports from the Pakistani capital of Islamabad.
