You should look at the Mitsubishi built Dodge D50 trucks of the 80's. They're 3/4 ton trucks with a lot of leg room, and the 2.6 L engines have plenty of torque. You should also keep a look out for a Volvo 240 they have a 3300 lb tow rating, they're reliable and good on gas.

I like mazda's and newer s10's with the 4.3

I do firewood too and smaller trucks o not like a cord of some good buckskin oak.

But my 97 dodge 1500 I got for 3200 looks new and my wife gets 21mpg in it and it had the 5.9 and 34inch tires
