I found this trailer fascinating. I find the sequel every bit as good as the first movie, but both are so complex I have had to see them repeatedly. Something about this trailer was just fantastic. I remember seeing parts of it on TV in NY. I do understand people find both movies hard to understand, but I say they were very well done and I don't always need the most obvious.

Am I the only one who wishes this film was never made ? Seriously Chinatown has no sequel

The problem I had with this sequel is that it feels muddled. The plot is so deliberately over complex that you can only understand it if you keep freezing the film to backtrack over the various plot strands. The emotional core of the film seems lost in all this

@theSuperMetroid Well, the third movie is supposed to be about Jake near the end of his life, so Jack's about the right age.

This looks like a great movie.
It is rated very low on film sites, I think those sites are full of shit.

@hanniballecter3 There SHOULD'VE been a third, but at this point they should just leave it alone. Jack's too old and the plot of the third installment was simplified and used in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

@DarkProphet94 nah its good I just got this for easter. Trust me its a justifying sequel it fits nicely in the world of J. Gittes . I don't think it was forced as you think, Jack Nicholson directed it so he seems like he really enjoyed the idea and it also it appears that they didnt make it to top the first one but just continue the story of Jake.
