  • good job! how come you didn't mention that black people were the first to really make it into their own instrument and bring it into something that can do more than the way it was intended to be played.

  • that is a good point!

    black musicians were definitely the reason that the harmonica became such a well-known and popular instrument, in the US, and the blues harmonica music style is something i would love to master someday. still far from being good at it, though :(

    my main reasoning for not mentioning african american contributions was that this was for an online speech class, and i was on a 7 muinute time restraint.
