http://www.v8tvshow.com - An all-new Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle (PPV) will join the ranks of law enforcement departments across North America in 2011. It's a modern, full-size, rear-drive sedan that will offer both V-8 and V-6 engines, as well as a host of specialized equipment and features. Chevrolet made the announcement at the annual International Association of Chiefs of Police convention, in Denver, Colorado. The Caprice PPV will be available for ordering next year and will hit the streets in early 2011.

I'm sorry, but this car would kill your Crown Vic any day. It's a proven police package that has been in service for years in Australia & New Zealand. If you like boats, I suggest you join the Coast Guard.

  • yep holden rules, crown vics r gettn dated with only 250hp, caprice has 380hp

  • Nice engine... But i hate the looks of it. It looks just like what? a fukin' kia? Come on, a chevy is better than that. Give them a distinctive look.

  • Why are all countries ashamed to call this car a Holden. America calls them Chevies or a Pontiac. and Europe calls them Vauxhall. WHAT THE HELL!!

  • @therealeskay lol well said.

  • @cadddy1871 why do you think the police caprice is a fail?

  • Sorry, that thing would not be as badass and intimidating as a Crown Vic tailing you. Can't ford creat a stronger Crown Vic?

  • too little too late. GM "government motors" should file for bankruptcy !!

  • ive driven police cars for 15 years now. i know a good squad when i see one. this isint it

  • @Kidis82 If you can turn, you're not going fast enough.

  • @ExUSSailor because they are crap, first corner they see and they fall over and die..

  • I can't believe it has a floor shifter! First regular cop car I've seen with that!

  • Nice car, but it's still foreign. Police Departments should stick to Dodge Chargers. A large, rear drive, V8 platform, that's made right here in the USA.

  • @385921105 Not to mention Ford's killing off RWD platforms. Except the Mustang, of course.

  • @cadddy1871 Ford is screwing themselves this time more than chevy with their cars not being RWD, and only a V6, well a powerful v6 but that doesn't match a v8 any day.

  • all these car company's are screwing up......they have taken out the Chevy caprice...now they are planning of taking out the crown vics...thats stupid the charger the impala and even the g8 are not as durable as the crown vics.... even though they look nice its all about performance

  • @385921105 Dude the vic died off they come to an end in 2011

  • bring back pontiac turn that junk in

  • the chevy look makes it UGLY! GO PONTIAC!

  • the new ford cop car looks better to me

  • @Mechknight73 I know what the Holden Caprice is.. if you look a few comments up you would see I already stated that!

  • @GndPrxRcr Although Holden built it this way independent of any US model. Look up "WM Holden Caprice" to see what the donor car looks like. All they did was strip off the tinsel and some of the luxury features of the Holden Caprice. They had features like full power leather seats, DVD screens with wireless headphones in the headrests, and a nice set of alloy wheels

  • @Mechknight73 Yeah the rear end looks like the current Chevy Impala.

  • @MustangRoush98 You do realise that on this Caprice, you can turn the traction control off if you want to. I see it as a shame that Holden, one of the smallest operations in the GM family, has to come in and show Chevrolet and Pontiac how to make muscle cars that handle. Holden NEVER made any front wheel drive, full sized cars. They were always RWD. I guess somebody saw the first Toronado and Holden engineers thought "We are NOT doing THAT!"
