The german minister of Defence was payed by Lockheed to buy the Starfighter, over the mirage and a Enhanced version of the Grumman Tigercat. Bad choice in my opinion the Mirage had a far better Combat record and was more reliable. Well and the Grumman planes were solid planes with good handling, and they could take a lot of punishment.

@CharlesBr0ns0n it was also named, Witwenmacher=Widowmaker, Erdnagel=Lawndart (direct translation would be something like: earth-nail), Starplumpser=starfloper or starplumper or by its pilots Rakete mit Flügeln=Rocket with wings. Frankly i don´t like it so much, mainly because it needs blown flaps to land, and it has probably something to do with like the ultimate dependable plane, the A-10. And the F-14. With the 104 egine out and you are in dep trouble. The big problem with it was corruption.
