  • treasured lp this live happening is proper happenin in 70's speek dont ya know lol

  • Chester Thompson's foot work on the Bass pedals is freakin' MINDBLOWING! Man, I wish the band these days would open it up and jam a good 15 to 20 minutes of Squib Cakes. Just like this and just like they use to back in the day. For whatever reasons, they just don't do it anymore.

  • that was a SICK horn arrangement behind Gillette's solo; how can you not love these guys? Hoping to hear Chester tear it up after LP's usual blistering solo. Oh crap, turn it up, Mr. sound man; can barely hear that organ! That's better.

  • The original members of TOP met because they were all proficient studio musicians in the Bay area. That shows how professional and proficient these guys are.

  • better than the best

  • Best Band Ever - So creative, so well rehearsed, redefined groove!

  • All snappy, tight, and HEAVY.

Kids these days just don't know.

I'm glad I had a chance to see this stuff live 'back in the day'.

Talk about tearing you a new one.

And people nowadays just don't have a clue as to 'why' we like Tower of Power.

Funk. R&B. Jazz. Soul. All rolled into one delicious recipe.

    This was gold.

  • awesome ... used to spin this tune regularly ... a deep well of funk that people used to just fall into ... thanks for sharing

  • Will anyone out there post the real thing? Someone please post the original "Squib Cakes" from this album. This track is a nuclear jazzfunk bomb!

  • @pluggedin2u I DAMN SHO' DO!
